The Partner Organisations Outreach Team liaises with non-profits and student-led organisations that share WSA’s dedication to promoting gender equality. By collaborating with these organisations on various initiatives, we aim to offer WSA members a wider array of opportunities.
WOMEN OF COLOUR (WOC) BLUEPRINT
The Women of Colour Blueprint (“WOCB”) is an Instagram and LinkedIn based social mobility initiative, with a mission to 'construct Legal, Finance, and Tech industries in a way that recognises and celebrates the unique experiences of Women of Colour'. It publishes profiles of successful and ambitious women from these fields and accompanies this with key information on racial and gender mobility in the UK. The WOCB aims to empower WOC entering and working in these professions, and to engender systemic change in the workplace.
GAIN UK - GIRLS ARE INVESTORS
GAIN UK is a non-profit organisation aimed at inspiring women and non-binary students to break into the Investment Management industry through inspirational events, exclusive opportunities, programmes and mentoring. They have reached over 15000 students through their events and programmes (including their flagship Summer Internship and Investment Insight Programme), have over 1200 investment industry volunteers in the GAIN network and delivered over 250 GAIN events since their launch in August 2019.
FEMALES X FINANCE
Female x Finance is the largest educational and job platform aiming to remove the barriers for female talents entering the financial sector. FxF provides educational content and trainings, as well as up-to-date information on vacancies. Their initiatives include networking events, monthly training sessions with real-life cases, and free career consultations.
THE SKILLS WORKSHOP
The Skills Workshop is a detailed programme of virtual workshops designed by industry professionals to provide the insight, knowledge and direction needed to pursue a career in the investment industry. Its goal is to tackle underrepresentation across the industry and increase social mobility – by addressing the intersectionality between ethnicity and social mobility. The Skills Workshop is free and open to all age groups (from pre-university to postgraduates and mature students). Last year over 7,500 students and over 60 companies took part.
PIMFA- PERSONAL INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL ADVISE ASSOCIATION
PIMFA is the voice of the personal wealth sector – championing financial health for every individual. They represent over 7,500 providers of wealth management services and financial advice from across the UK, who look after £1.65 trillion in private savings and investments and employ over 63,000 people. Whether they're advocating for and creating positive regulatory and policy change, connecting people from across the industry, providing hands-on guidance and support, or challenging misconceptions of the personal wealth sector – they always have the interests of their members and their clients at heart and work to help ensure the UK remains a financial global centre of excellence.
